Cover Alert: Grace Potter & the Nocturnals – Friend of the Devil

Yesterday we told you about the cover of the Grateful Dead’s Casey Jones that Grace Potter and the Nocturnals delivered at their first of two Capitol Theatre shows in Port Chester, New York. Well last night, at the group’s last U.S. show for a while, Potter and her band treated fans to yet another Grateful Dead classic at a venue that hosted the iconic band 18 times in the early ’70s.

  1. This show was great and Grace was very respectful of playing Dead tunes at The Cap. She said she dug how much love the crowd gave her the night before having played Casey Jones and they wanted to recreate that magic. Although the place wasn’t a sellout like Saturday was, it was pretty busy for a Sunday. And noisy. What a great venue.

I get nervous that GPN has gotten too pop but seeing them live, the bad ass blues and rock band is still under there.
