Kidzz: Nine-Year-Old Pianist Plays 20+ Song Medley That Includes Umphrey’s, Zappa, McCartney, Steely Dan, Floyd Covers

Following yesterday’s installment of Kidzz where we showed you six-year-old drum prodigy Avery Molek nailing Van Halen’s Hot For Teacher comes another incredibly impressive performance by a youngster. Nine-year-old pianist Owen York ties together over 20 songs in a seamless, mostly improvised medley that he’s shared on YouTube.

Among the tunes York works into his medley are 1348, 2X2 and Nothing Too Fancy by Umphrey’s Mcgee, Zappa’s Peaches En Regalia, Do It Again by Steely Dan and Pink Floyd’s Echoes. Check this out…

  1. Thanks for sharing this! Owen has actually already seen UM live. He also has seen a symphony perform Beethoven. He practices every day & has a great teacher.
