Langerado Leak: Panic! At the Festival

Attention people of Sunrise, Florida: Schools is now in session.

Well, not yet — but the six-time winner of Entertainment Weekly‘s Most Likely To Be Horatio Sanz’s Biological Brother award will be rockin’ Sunrise come March. Love ’em or hate ’em, Widespread Panic will be your Langerado headliner this year.

We’re pleased to announce that Widespread Panic will be one of the headliners of the 5th annual Langerado Music Festival taking place Match 9-11, 2007 in Sunrise, Florida! The initial lineup announcement will be made at www.langerado.com this Wednesday November 15th, but we wanted to let our fans know a little bit early. Tickets for the festival go on sale Saturday, November 18th at 10am EST…

And if you haven’t heard the latest Herring-infused incarnation of the country’s best rock n’ drawl, you don’t know how great a decision this could be. Panic’s a stupendously fun band to catch live, but now with Jimmy at the lead they’re finally pushing musical boundaries for the first time since even before Mikey Houser’s untimely death in the summer of 2002.

Herring’s a glove of a fit, a top-notch professional that respects the existing sound of the band but brings his own style to the proceedings. At this point if you need more convincing, just take a listen to the three Radio City Music Hall shows that kicked off Jimmy’s career with the band that makes all the Southerners flail like buzzin’ chickens:

If they played that well from the get-go, March is guaranteed to showcase the goods. As an added bonus, I’ll even throw in the following YouTube clip of the Halloween eve Morning Dew cover at Vegoose and this version of Chest Fever from the first night at Radio City. We’ll see you in March…
