The Lee Boys played an impromptu set at Langerado on Sunday due to the sudden pullout of Rodrigo y Gabriela (the withdrawal method apparently works).
The Mexican duo’s website blames new U.S. immigration policies and procedures, saying “guitarist Rodrigo Sanchez’s visa renewal has unexpectedly been delayed.” The visa snafu has also forced the cancellation of their Boston and SXSW gigs. Someone hook this man up with a coyote so he can melt American faces.
News of the pair’s no-show produced serious groans from a crowd of people that wanted its first look at the former thrash metal guitarists that supposedly put on quite an acoustic performance. I, for one, look forward to the day when I can watch them play in person, but here’s a great video from a December Late Show with David Letterman program that showcases their immense talent:

Viacom sued Google and YouTube for one billion dollars yesterday, so make sure to watch this clip before CBS forces the site to yank it down. Ese.

OH NO! I hope their show at Webster Hall next week is still on.
Actually, according to the calendar it looks like the show is still on AND it was moved to the Bowery Ballroom. Hopefully that’s still accurate, I really want to see these guys.
You have that wrong Ace it’s been moved from Bowery to Webster.
Yeah, I’m illiterate. I never told anyone that.
