Bloggy Goodness: Get Funny For Free

On Monday night, the Dave Matthews Band were in New York City to kick off their monster 63-date North American tour at Madison Square Garden – the band’s first extended tour without founding member LeRoi Moore who tragically passed away last year. Earlier in the day via his Twitter account, Matthews slyly notified the masses that the band was giving away their new single, Funny The Way It Is, for free from their upcoming release Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King. The album, whose title is a tribute to the late Moore, hits stores on June 2 and features Tim Reynolds and the recording debut of Rashawn Ross and Jeff Coffin with the band.

Finally, have you ever wondered what your favorite rock star is listening to? Well, the always progressive David Byrne has launched his very own radio station that is currently featuring what the former Talking Heads front man is spinning on his European tour. The two and a half hour plus playlist – which you can stream via his website – features the likes of Bon Iver, Casiotone For The Painfully Alone, Neko Case, Animal Collective and St. Vincent.

  1. Is this any good? I still love old Dave, but can’t listen to the new stuff, try as I might. Back in the day they were “Hillbillies on Acid,” that died mid-“Crash”. Not that they have any reason to get back to their roots with the boatloads they make every album/tour.
