After 50 years of drumming Phil Collins is putting down his sticks. The Genesis drummer has a spinal injury that has made sitting at a kit too painful to endure. Collins will still be able to sing and perform in the future.
Here’s one final look at what else is happening this week…
- It looks like Van Halen will tour with Dave Roth in 2010
- Drummer Bill Kreutzmann has unveiled a cool new website
- New York Mag looks at the Beatles Remasters using charts
- Warren Haynes taped an appearance on the eTown show
- Gigwise.com details the 50 Worst Albums of the 2000s
- Whitperson put together a podcast of tasty Phish improv
Finally, Gothamist got a sneak peak inside the new Knitting Factory location in Williamsburg and the place looks great. The venue opened its doors to the public on Wednesday night when Les Savy Fav performed.
