Over the last 15+ years as a Phish fan I’ve been treated to some magical experiences and last night’s concert is near the top of the list. One of Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio’s career goals was to play with the New York Philharmonic and he made his opportunity count at Carnegie Hall. Songs like Brian and Robert, Divided Sky, First Tube and The Inlaw Josie Wales sounded so natural in this setting you’d think Big Red wrote them for an orchestra.
The highlight of the show came near the end when Anastasio and the orchestra unveiled their version of You Enjoy Myself. A lot of thought was put into each section of the song from Trey’s post-tramps solo to the vocal jam to the way the trombones played the “boy, man, god, shit” sequence. The only shitty part of the experience was seeing multiple people pass out after ingesting nitrous outside of the iconic venue. You can take the kidz out of the Phish lot, but you can’t take the Phish lot out of the kidz.
I’m putting together my full review, but I wanted to post the setlist plus links to audio and video.
Set 1: First Tube, The Inlaw Josie Wales, Brian and Robert, Divided Sky, Water In the Sky, Pebbles and Marbles, Guyute Orchestral
Set 2: Time Turns Elastic, Let Me Lie, You Enjoy Myself

FLAC?
One of the best nights of music ive ever had the pleasure of seeing live.
i just wanted to point out that ‘Guyute Orchestral’ is really:
The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday -> Guyute -> The Man Who Stepped in to Yesterday
Actually it’s My Friend My Friend, not the Man Who Stepped
Can you repost the download?
BT link to FLAC would also be much appreciated.
anyone else having problems getting that download to boot?
As Trey, Tom, and Daubs created the incantation we all know so well at the Rhombus over 20 years ago, who’d have thunk some day it would be performed at Carnegie Hall by the NY Philharmonic?
Unequivocally my personal highlight of the night (yes… even better than YEM!), and brought tears to my eyes several times. I will cherish the memories from last night for a looooong time.
And after seeing N2O outside of Carnegie Hall, I think I’ve seen it all…
The audio worked fine for me and I don’t see the FLACs anywhere.
audio doesn’t work for me either
I swapped out the mediafire link and threw in a megaupload link.
Thanks Scotty.

Scott, are you going to post my pics? Let me know if I should put a link in or what thanks!
I’ve got a 1.5gig vid of the YEM from the first row of the balc – anyone have suggestions for a home where I could upload it? It’s too big for YouTube/Vimeo, and I’m not sure of a program where I could cut it into parts. Any help would be appreciated! And thanks for the links Scotty!
Dave,
I’m not that knowledgeable about video but perhaps you can compress it a bit to fit on Vimeo?
Compression huh – aight, I’ll take a look tonight and see what I can do. If I get the vid up, I’ll be sure to shoot you the link in the comments here.
