Trey Anastasio & Classic TAB @ T5: Setlist

Fans at Terminal 5 were treated to a super-sized portion of Trey Anastasio and Classic TAB this evening in New York City. The ensemble took the stage at 8:30, snuck a quick setbreak  nearly two hours later and then returned for 70 minutes worth of music. All in all, Trey and his band were onstage for three hours mixing old school TAB tunes, Anastasio’s eclectic batch of new songs and five classic Phish songs played on acoustic.

As the first set approached the two hour mark, there was talk that perhaps Big Red had done away with setbreak as he had done a few years back when he performed Phish songs on acoustic in lieu of an intermission. Some were visibly shocked when Anastasio told the crowd there would be another set. Jennifer Hartswick stole the show in the second set with gorgeous backing vocals and a boisterous trumpet solo in Ether Sunday, her strong lead vocals on a cover of Led Zeppelin’s Black Dog and a blissful solo in Magilla. First Tube, the second song in the encore, gave Trey one last chance to rock the jammed-packed venue and he made the most of it.

Let’s look at the setlist…

  3. Hey Greg P… whatever! I am 37 years old and glad I am not an old fart like you. It’s called fun! Now take your wife and kids to Chucky Cheese and stop raining on other peoples fun. You are the only loser here.

  4. @ GregP, “its not cool to go to shows when ur 30.” Might be the most ignorant sentence I’ve read since turning 30 5 years ago. People who enjoy live music do it for the experience and fun of it, regardless of age. Not to be cool, fool. Go back to hanging out with your cats.

  5. I’m almost weeping that these acoustics happened in NYC as I sit with my Pabst tix. Still the Pabst is a phenom venue to see a show!

  6. @greg p
