ENTER TO WIN: Two Pairs of 3-Day Passes to Northwest String Summit 2017 – Yonder Mountain String Band, Greensky Bluegrass, Blitzen Trapper & More

Bluegrass festivals and summertime go together like coffee and pie. There’s just something magical about setting up camp, cracking a cold one, and watching acoustically picked instruments in the sunshine or under the stars. One of the best places to soak up this experience is at Northwest String Summit in North Plains, OR. Held at the bucolic Horning’s Hideout, this year’s edition of NWSS takes place July 13-16.

The always intimate festival features a jam-packed bluegrass lineup that includes three nights of Yonder Mountain String Band (the festival hosts), Greensky Bluegrass, the Del McCoury Band, Elephant Revival, the Shook Twins, Split Lip Rayfield, Fruition and tons more. Of course, NWSS isn’t all bluegrass and folk music. Americana and rock acts like Blitzen Trapper, Dead Man Winter, Todd Snider and JJ Grey & Mofro will also be gracing the stages.

Part of what makes NWSS such a special festival is the idyllic setting, which is undoubtedly conducive to taking in live music. Last year Glide Magazine contributor Greg Homolka summed it up by saying, “On a ‘normal’ weekend, Horning’s Hideout operates as a fishing and camping retreat where you can play a round of Frisbee golf, ride on a paddle boat, do some fishing, host a party or wedding, or otherwise enjoy the outdoors. For String Summit, it is transformed into a music lover’s paradise with multiple stages, wooded camping, ample food vendors, sculptures, and chill spaces.”

String Summit event promoter Skye McDonald comments about NWSS 2017, “This is our 16th year producing String Summit and we’re pulling out all the stops! Horning’s Hideout is such a special festival destination, we’re thrilled to invite all our friends and many core bands for the party. Several will perform on multiple days as to properly soak it all up, and in turn, give us more magnificent musical magic morning, noon and night!”

Glide Magazine is excited to team up with Northwest String Summit to give away two (2) 3-day passes to two (2) different winners for this year’s festival. This includes Primitive Camping. Parking is additional. In order to enter, please like Glide on Facebook and leave a comment below telling us which act you are most excited to see at Northwest String Summit in July.  The winner will be picked randomly.  The deadline to enter is June 27, 2017 at 11PM PST.
