The gear up for the latest Nine Inch Nails release, Bad Witch, is now at full steam with the release of “God Break Down the Door,” the latest single from the forthcoming album that completes a trilogy that began with 2016’s Not the Actual Events.
In addition to the new track, Trent Reznor spoke at length about the latest song with Zane Lowe earlier this morning, detailing the inspiration and process of recording the song, providing fans a unique glimpse not only at the upcoming album, but the two preceding EPs as well. You can hear that interview here.
“God Break Down the Door” is certainly a unique effort from Nine Inch Nails, featuring Reznor singing in a Bowie-esque baritone backed by a frenetic techno beat. It’s a different feel from much of their previous releases and might offer a taste of what to expect from Bad Witch, set for release on June 22.
Additionally, Nine Inch Nails announced openers for their upcoming tour with The Jesus and Mary Chain. The supporting acts will vary as they move across the country, and will include TOBACCO, Kite Base, Daniel Avery, Gabe Gurnsey (Factory Floor), Death in Vegas, and HMLTD. For exact details see below.
In what Reznor describes as “part of the experience,” tickets for the fall run go on sale this weekend, in person only.
