Jon Batiste, acclaimed musician and bandleader for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, will take over The Village Vanguard for six nights, October 30th through November 4th. Backed by a full band, he’ll play two sets each night–8:30pm and 10:30pm–alongside Joe Saylor (drums), Phil Kuehn (bass), Tivon Pennicott (tenor sax), Patrick Bartley (alto sax) and Giveton Gelin (trumpet.) Batiste recently released singles “What A Wonderful World” and “Don’t Stop,” leading up to the September 28th release of his debut solo album Hollywood Africans, currently available for pre-order.
