Bluesman Frank Bey passed away Sunday, June 7th after a long illness and failing kidneys. Bey is a multiple BMA nominee who started ou in Otis Redding’s band, is considered one of the best soul-blues singers of our time. Bey, had a rise in 70s that was derailed thanks to an infamous deal with James Brown gone wrong. He languished in obscurity until the 90s, when he made his auspicious comeback and has, since, garnered acclaim with awards nominations and a series of well-received albums, including 2018’s Back in Business and this year’s All My Dues Are Paid.
