LISTEN: Glenn Thomas Captures Seasonality Of Life On Pensive “The Things I Dreamt About”

Raised in a small New England town, Glenn Thomas writes with careful attention to his understanding of himself and the seasonality of life. He has performed across the country with national acts such as Langhorne Slim, The Barr Brothers, Blitzen Trapper, Joe Pug, The Ballroom Thieves, Eve6, Watsky, Rubblebucket, and many others. He is currently living in Nashville and working on his follow-up album to his debut LP Reassure Me There’s a Window, released in 2020 via Palace Flophouse Records

Thomas’s latest single “The Things I Dreamt About” is a string-laden, ethereal folk composition with an arrangement that aptly compliments the stream-of-consciousness style of story-telling and wistful vocals. The meditative finger-picking lays down a  foundation that acts as a comforting home base to ground the listener as Thomas strings you along for his introspective visions and musings.

“I wrote this song about the way the mind wanders while awake, the feeling of going between the present reality and the infinite space of imagination surrounding it. I think the idea of a wandering mind gets a bad rep in a productivity-driven society, but it can be such a gift to step back and get lost in a daydream,” says Thomas.
