Rita Satch is a vocalist and songwriter whose music fuses soul, jazz, and cinematic orchestration into genre-defying soundscapes. Born in Uzbekistan and raised in Melbourne/Naarm, she has performed at Glastonbury and Cheltenham Jazz Festival. Satch has collaborated with luminaries like Gary Bartz and Barny McAAll. Her debut album is set to be released in 2025 via Silk Throne Records.

Before Satch unleashes what is sure to be a stellar debut, the artist gifts listeners with the groovy single “Joyride.” The unassuming yet entirely infectious tune shows us the artist’s refreshing approach to modern jazz as silk-lined vocals wrap around a simplistically funky arrangement like a mink coat. Satch’s vocal performance steals the show. The way her vocal runs never seem to end gives “Joyride” a breathless, soothing, yet danceable ease. There are no bells and whistles to Satch’s latest. Her hypnotic vocals carry the weight of the lighthearted lyrics through the subtle psychedelia that tints her vocals with the uniqueness needed to stand out in the busy genre. Satch’s “Joyride” is precisely as the title indicates. It is a smooth journey through the creativity of a young artist who has not only found her voice but mastered it and forced it to bend to her lofty visions of a jazz vocalist.
