Move Me Brightly: Weir, Gordon, Tench & More Team Up To Pay Tribute To Jerry Garcia at TRI Studios

An all-star cast of performers will team up on August 3 to present Move Me Brightly: Celebrating Jerry Garcia’s 70th Birthday, a free high-definition webcast originating from Bob Weir’s TRI Studios.

The list of musicians set to play as part of the broadcast is already impressive with more to be added soon. Joining Weir will be Phish bassist Mike Gordon, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ keyboardist Benmont Tench along with Neal Casal, Jeff Chimenti, Joe Russo, Harper Simon, Cass McCombs and Jonathan Wilson. Here’s more from the press release…

The event will include exclusive interviews with Garcia’s peers, including Carlos Santana.  David Crosby’s moving tribute, “’Cause I’m Missing Him Tonight,” penned specifically for the occasion, will be read during the show.  Luke Wilson (The Royal Tennenbaums, Old School, Anchorman) will take a moment away from his day job to emcee the event.

We’ll keep you posted as more performers are revealed.
