In preparation for his fall tour, which begins tomorrow in Detroit, Trey Anastasio rehearsed with his TAB ensemble at the Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, New Jersey. While there, the Phish front man talked with promoter Bowery Presents about the process of making his latest solo album – Traveler. Not only does he discuss the process of making the album, we also see him layering delicious loops while utilizing a Fender Jaguar guitar. Will he be using this guitar on the tour?
Trey Anastasio’s Thoughts On Traveler
There’s another great clip that The Bowery Presents shared. This one finds the newest iteration of TAB rehearsing the opening track from Traveler – Corona. Corona has yet to be performed publicly.
You’ll notice that Trey uses his Fender during this tune.

Trey A. is a Mozart of our era. People will look back & know it’s so. Jerry Garcia rest easy. the baton has smoothly passed to Trey & he’s running w/ it so well. Creativity in jam music is so alive here.
I could sit, watch, and listen to Trey layer loops all day. No hyperbole there. All day. I’m heading to the Fillmore tonight here in Detroit.. I can’t wait!
