When compared alongside her complete repertoire, Raven will undoubtedly stand tall as one of Cole’s top albums.
Junip makes no effort to outdo or dramatically alter the sound they have developed since their first EP, but they have clearly focused on improving their overall balance in writing this album. In time, Junip could easily prove to be the band’s best effort yet.
Bringing an infectious energy with them that at times felt like it could literally bring down the roof of the 90-year-old Wellmont, Garbage performed a set wholly dedicated to their most vehement supporters.
On this night, even as an opening act, the sheer emotion behind his songs captured the ears of a group of strangers and left them stupefied, shouting for more. Hopefully someday soon we will be able to see Bohlke with a full-backing band and an opener of his own.
