Conspirator: Unlocked – Live From The Georgia Theatre

With the Disco Biscuits existing in something of a musical purgatory these days, playing only large scale events like Camp Bisco and Mayan Holidaze, founding members Marc Brownstein (bass) and Aron Magner (keys) are focused squarely on Conspirator, the side project they developed in 2004. Enfolding guitarist Chris Michetti into a permanent guitar slot and calling on a rotating cast of talented livetronica drummers, the band just released Unlocked: Live from the Georgia Theater on SCI Fidelity.

Enter The Haggis

Toronto roots rock band Enter The Haggis reached their goal and then some while nailing it in- house through their own fundraiser, where to their astonishment, $40,000 came in over just a couple months to record their sixth studio album Whitelake. Bar band, they are not.  Enter The Haggis are an established international touring act whose Amazon ratings for Whitelake kill it on two pages with five star ratings.

Girl in a Coma (with Justin Furstenfeld and Blue October): Ram’s Head Live, Baltimore, MD 4/1/12

Girl in a Coma is band that has shown tremendous growth since their debut five years ago.  While Both Before I’m Gone was a solid though not exceptional debut, it was the vast expansion of their sound on Trio BC and the significant dose of some good ol’ crazy on last year’s Exits and All the Rest, not to mention the ability to really make their mark on covers evidenced on 2010’s Adventures in Coverland, that makes them an incredibly exciting band.  Their ability to take their broader sound and really go off on Exits is what made this show so promising.
