  1. sick lineup! great job by all involved

Phix comming out of retirement? recreate THE SHOW?

everyband at festy should be required to play a phish tune 😀

  2. I think tix are on sale Friday, not Thursday. But maybe I got that wrong. Anyway, though we won’t get as many veggie burritos in 08, (possibly ahi tuna for the ironic hipsters?) the lineup is still pretty ill. Count me excited, anyway.

  3. Its not even close to being a “hipster” fest. Look at the whole lineup – Railroad Earth, Raq, American Babies, Pnuma Trio, BAd Plus, The duo, Spam Allstars, P-Groove, Sam Bush, Phil, Claypool, Umphrey’s, Matisyahu, Mickey Hart, Robert Randolph, Wood Brothers, phix, Wailers, Meters, Dark Star Orchestra. The only thing hipsters have to cling onto is shitty Vampire Weekend. Supefly/Roo would never invite so many heady acts to one fest these days…

  4. Just “Spam Allstars” now? No “Le Spam”? Looks like someone passed their citizenship test!

I hear that REM is just gonna play a 7 hour “Don’t Go Back To Rockville.” That’s the word on the (fey, bald) street.

  5. great to see these names on the list:

    311
    funky meters
    antibalas
ozomatli (have they replaced their lyricist?)
    the new deal
    arrested development
the lee boys (never seen this cats…desperately want to)

These are the acts that stood out to me as ‘not your everyday’ festival draws.

I like this lineup a lot. (in ‘dumb and dumber’ persona)

  6. The press release says tickets go on sale on Thursday November 16th, so I’m a bit confused. I’ll try to find out if tickets go on sale Thursday or Friday

  7. Yeah, doesn’t look super-hipster-friendly at all. I canm’t believe I’ve never heard Vampire Weekend. I hear about them a lot though. Sounds like a novelty I wouldn’t like, but who knows?

  8. They happen to be a fantastic new band that people are going to love to hate because they are getting a lot of press – Rolling Stone featured them in their Hot List issue, Spin had a piece on them in their latest issue. If you like Graceland-era Paul Simon mixed with a bit of the Talking Heads and the Clash you’re going to like these guys. I did a post of them last week…..

Definitely one of my favorite bands that I stumbled upon this year, along with Okkervil River and Oakley Hall.

  9. you’re right ‘dude’…I dig these cats.

thanks for the song off your blog. Vampire Weekend sounds fun.

“We mock what we don’t understand” – some famous dude
