Mike Gordon Band Extends Mound in Eugene

Bassist Mike Gordon and the Mike Gordon Band set off on a 18-date tour yesterday at the McDonald Theatre in Eugene, Oreg. and Cactus wasn’t kidding when he mentioned an extended version of the Rift nugget Mound in the video that announced the run. The MGB’s encore was indeed Mound and did indeed feature an extended intro and outro. Take a look…

Gordon also unveiled the first live version of Babylon Baby off last year’s Moss LP at the McDonald. Covers included takes on Little Feat’s Sailin’ Shoes, Son Seals’ Funky Bitch and The Beatles’ She Said, She Said. Mike’s band also performed Middle of the Road off the Mike/Leo album Clone, Green Sparrow tracks Dig Further Down, Andelmans’ Yard and Pretend as well as guitarist Scott Murawski’s Cruel World.
