The B List: Stage Setlist Porn, Pt. 6

2. Nirvana – MTV Unplugged

[via TaraDen]

We were excited to come across the stage setlist from Nirvana’s legendary MTV Unplugged appearance. Taped at Sony Studios in New York City on November 18, 1993, the Seattle rockers filled the setlist with covers and invited multiple guests to join them including The Meat Puppets.

3. Soulive – March 11, 2011

[via Jeremy Gordon]

For Soulive’s second Bowlive residency at Brooklyn Bowl they utilized detailed setlists with a funky header. The band didn’t want to box themselves in too much and gave room for audibles, while still listing the proper time for each guest to step onto the stage.

4. Dinosaur Jr. – 09/26/94

Here’s another “classic” stage setlist from Dinosaur Jr.’s heyday. The group was touring in support of Without a Sound at the time.

5. Eric Clapton – 02/26/11 Seattle, WA

Now that most major venues have Twitter and Flickr accounts, the marketing people in charge of running them figured out that sharing stage setlists gives their followers a cool look “behind the scenes.” Case in point – a stage setlist from Eric Clapton’s recent appearance in Seattle was uploaded to the Key Arena Flickr account.

6. Heavy Pets – 03/18/11 Brooklyn, NY

[via Dana Lynne]

It’s not often we come across photos of hand-written stage setlists being drawn up, so we had to share this amazing photo from Dana Lynne of The Heavy Pets coming up with a game plan for their Brooklyn Bowl show.

7. U2/Muse – 04/02/11 Buenos Aires, Argentina

[via ema_gz]

Muse and U2 recently teamed up for a number of shows in South America and we love that these two mega-bands have stage setlists befitting their stature. After coming across 99.9999% of stage setlists with a white background, kudos to Muse for switching it up.

8. Widespread Panic – 07/04/03 Detroit Lakes, MN

[via Peter Heacox]

While the late Garrie Vareen isn’t exactly making a stage setlist in the amazing photo above, he’s starting the process that will lead to the stage setlist’s creation. Vareen would mark songs on the group’s songlist played at the last show in one color, those played two shows ago in a second color and tunes performed three shows ago in yet a third color to allow the band an easy glance at what’s up in the rotation.

9. Black Flag – Circa 1982

[via kittykowalski]

Here’s another old school stage setlist from punk legends Black Flag. Even the font on this hand-written paper screams “don’t fuck with me.”

9. Jeff Beck – 05/07/11 Clearwater, FL

[via billfrog2]

Iconic guitarist Jeff Beck lists the key of each song on his setlists as you can see on this stage setlist from a show earlier this month in Florida. We’re betting he doesn’t want us to copy the paper from all the “DO NOT COPY” notes on it, though we have no clue why.

10. The Posies –  12/10/90 Cleveland, OH

[via ayelienne]

We’ll end our latest look at stage setlists with another decades old contribution. Blogger Ayelienne shares the story behind this 1990 show from Seattle-based rockers The Posies.
