  1. Great! Still not great enough to make me sit through a televised award show, or learn about new music or anything.

Had the pleasure of meeting Dr. John — ON HIS FRONT PORCH ON NOLA!!! — a couple years ago, thanks to the late, great Bob French.

  2. Thanks so much for posting this. I did miss it, and glad you had me covered.
This looks like a site I’m going to spend some substantial time exploring from now on!

  3. It was my first time seeing the Black Keys perform and i know the grammy’s is a big production night and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band are a talented lot to be sure,,, I was just hoping to see more of the Keys. Pat was not featured at all and i would have loved to see him drum. I love Loney Boy but the Keys have so many other fantastic musical masterpieces … it would be impossible to pick if i had to chose a different one anyway!! I have tickets to the Black Keys in Pittsburgh at the Consol Energy Center on 4/30/13 so i hope i will get my fill of the Keys at the show-although i know i will never have enough of them! I am so looking forward to seeing them ,, i can’t even tell you!.. I just want to say “Thank You” to Dan and Pat for bringing back the Music that runs through your soul and pulsates in your heart. I haven’t felt this way about music in years! Love you guys so much!! – see you in Pittsburgh!

  4. I lucked into first attending Preservation Hall in NO around 1985, mainly because it sits next to the famous Pat O’briens. I have visited several times since. In ’05, we took our two teenaged daughters.PH is small, hot, crowded. They knew nothing about Dixieland jazz beforehand.Came out big fans. See Pres Hall on tv via Austin City Limits or PBS re-runs. Best song of otherwise pedestrian Grammy night.
