45 Years Ago Today- The Police Release Debut Album ‘Outlandos d’Amour’

45 years ago today (11/2/78), The Police released Outlandos d’Amour their debut studio LP. Elevated by the success of its lead single, “Roxanne”, Outlandos d’Amour spawned two additional hit singles: “Can’t Stand Losing You” and “So Lonely” and remains as one of rock’s signature debuts as it spelled a crossover from reggae rhythms to shades of punk and new wave. Watch the blonde trio perform live in ’79 following the album’s release.
