Happy 40th birthday today to singer-songwriter/musician/artist Justin Vernon (born 4/30/81). Vernon emerged in 2007 under the name Bon Iver and his debut For Emma, Forever Ago. Holed up inside his father’s remote hunting cabin over late 2006 to early 2007, he abandoned his old songwriting methods and instead focused on wordless melodies that he later set to words, and the results became one of indie’s most acclaimed debuts. Since then Vernon has released three other highly acclaimed albums that profess of an evolving and risk-taking artist. Let’s watch Bon Iver perform live in 2019 at Denmark’s Northside Festival.
