Blues legend B.B. King may be 87-years-old, but that hasn’t stopped him from touring as hard as artists a quarter his age. Last night the Itta Bena, Mississippi-bred singer/guitarist visited his namesake club in New York City, where he performed before a capacity crowd.

Hi. I have great respect for Mr. BB King and have seen him many times. However the BB Kings Blues Club in NYC is a terrible venue. Myself and many folks I know have had really bad experiences. They sat us and two tablemates directly in front of bass woofer speakers and didn’t tell us. They wouldn’t move us once the shaking and really loud noise began. Nobody can enjoy a show like that. No consideration or responsibility from the greedy management. Rude, condescending and menacing. Sullen staff. I know people who were made to sit on a bench next to the restrooms for Jonny Lang! There is no recourse but to tell as many folks as possible what most real NYC music fans know already…don’t go to this tourist trap if you can possibly avoid it. Most music fans don’t go back. They pack ’em in, treat you bad, lousy food and downright scary managers. It’s just not worth it. By the way, BB King’s actual management in Las Vegas was outraged at our story. However BB only licenses his name to the chain, he and they do not manage the operation. Be warned!
BB has to be close to retirement age, right?
