Led Zeppelin Album Sales Way Up, Three Night MSG Run Rumored

Sales of Led Zeppelin’s back catalogue have increased by 500%since the band announced then played their reunion show at the O2 Arena, which took place on Monday (December 10).

Music retailer HMV also revealed that sales of ‘Mothership’, Led Zeppelin’s recent compilation album, rose by 50% overnight following the gig, and was the biggest selling album in HMV stores in the UK yesterday (December 11).

Led Zeppelin merchandise has also seen a huge increase in sales. Gennero Castaldo of HMV explained: “This demonstrates the enduring appeal of Led Zeppelin as the definitive rock band. Their music is now connecting with a whole new generation of fans, who are discovering its brilliance for the first time.”

Led Zeppelin are also rumoured to be set to play three nights at New York’s Madison Square Garden venue in 2008.

According to The Sun, the band were overheard discussing the prospect after their performance at the O2 Arena on Monday (December 10).

A source quoted in the newspaper explains, “One of the guys [in the band] started talking about their three concerts at the Garden. There was a consensus of, ‘Why not?’.”
