With their DIY feel, skateboarding videos from the late 1980’s/early 1990’s typically featured punk and hardcore bands as the soundtrack, which seemed to perfectly capture their aggressive gorilla-spirit. So it comes as a welcome surprise that for the music video for his latest single – Morning Star – Cass McCombs has teamed up with director Patrick O’Dell to turn the genre on its head.
Featuring a ton of old skate footage that spans from the sports early days up on to the through present, the clip is set to McCombs’ hazy, lo-fi, acid-drenched track that fits perfectly as the skaters glide past the camera. Let’s check it out…
