The Dead Weather Plan 2015 LP, Singles Series

The Dead Weather

The Dead Weather have been working on new music this year — and apparently, we’ll see the results soon enough. The blues-rock band (featuring Jack White, Alison Mosshart, Jack Lawrence, and Dean Fertita) will be releasing new tunes through a series of 7″ singles, which will be compiled (along with other new tracks) for their third LP, out in 2015.

The singles will be available exclusively through Third Man Records’ Vault subscription series. The first two tracks, “Open Up (That’s Enough)” and “Rough Detective,” are described in a press release as being “unlike anything else the band has ever done,” as well as “ample remiders of the ferocity of this motley collection of low-lifes, grifters, and ne’er-do-wells.” The 7″ is being pressed on a “striking yellow jacket vinyl” along with a “custom glue-pocket picture sleeve.”

The tracks will eventually be released in digital form, but only after the Vault subscribers have received their copies. The series also features more Jack White-related goodies: a live CD and DVD of The Raconteurs’ September 2011 performance at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. Subscriptions are available now until October 31st at the official Third Man website.
