Sir Paul has really been hitting the pavement in promotion of his new studio album, New. He’s performed on shows like Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and performed impromptu concerts in Times Square and a New York high school. While McCartney’s most recent albums (like 2012’s Kisses on the Bottom and 2007’s Memory Almost Full) were largely nostalgic and often somber, his new approach seems to be focused on variety and vitality — hence a new recording of his holiday staple “Wonderful Christmastime.”
Macca recorded a new version of the track with the acapella group Straight No Chaser for their upcoming EP Under the Influence: Holiday Edition, out October 29th. The track finds McCartney singing lead over a bed of warm vocal harmonies; it’s available to stream over at Rolling Stone.

What the hell’s wrong with everyone? Paul didn’t record anything! It’s just a remix of his original vocal track with new backing by Straight No Chaser. Where are internet music journalists’ ears on this?
