Eddie Vedder Plots East Coast Tour

As a complement to his first solo tour in April, which only visited the West Coast, Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder will head east for another round of dates later this summer, beginning Aug. 1-2 in Boston. Liam Finn will reprise his opening act duties.

Tickets go on sale July 11 to the general public but will be available first to members of Pearl Jam’s Ten Club fan organization beginning July 7.

On the earlier solo dates, Vedder mixed obscure Pearl Jam songs with a wealth of covers, as well as material from his soundtrack to the Sean Penn-directed film "Into the Wild." That album has sold 369,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Vedder just finished a mini-U.S. tour with Pearl Jam, which culminated last night (July 1) with a private benefit at New York’s Beacon Theatre for the Robin Hood Foundation. As previously reported, the event raised $3 million for the organization’s poverty fighting efforts.

Pearl Jam is also in the early stages of work on its next studio album, which will be produced by longtime collaborator Brendan O’Brien for the first time since 1998’s "Yield."

Here are Eddie Vedder’s solo tour dates:

Aug. 1-2: Boston (Opera House)
Aug. 4-5: New York (United Palace Theatre)
Aug. 7: Newark, N.J. (New Jersey PAC)
Aug. 9: Montreal (Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier/Place)
Aug. 12-13: Toronto (Massey Hall)
Aug. 16-17: Washington, D.C. (Warner Theatre)
Aug. 19: Milwaukee (Riverside Theatre)
Aug. 21-22: Chicago (Auditorium Theatre)
