Mike Relm, an audio/video mash-up DJ performing on Tony Hawk’s Boom Boom HuckJam tour this month, is releasing his solo album and is headed for clubs across America.
Spectacle will include music Relm made himself because, as he said, he received too many C&Ds for sampling music.
"It’s pretty sad, even my children and my children’s children will not be able o make a sample-based record," he said in a statement.
But what is a loss to Relm’s grandchildren could be a gain for those who like original stuff. Relm will play songs from Spectacle and from the 3-D DVD "Clown Alley" beginning September 23 at Wow Wow Hall in Eugene, Ore., Triple Rock Social Club in Minneapolis, Rock ‘N’ Roll Hotel in Washington D.C. and 20 other venues, wrapping the party at El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles October 24.
Expect Relm to serve up an imaginative onslaught of pop culture bits that combines clips from movies with music from a wide variety of genres.
