SONG PREMIERE: BIG Something- “Love Generator”

North Carolina’s BIG Something will be releasing their new album, Truth Serum on November 4th. With a powerful sound that is both refreshingly original and yet classic in its approach, BIG Something fuses elements of rock, pop, funk, jazz and improv, in order to take listeners on a journey through a myriad of musical styles.  After several years of relentless touring, the band has performed across the country as direct support for the likes of Galactic, moe., The B52s, Robert Randolph and The Family Band, Zach Deputy, DJ Logic, Toubab Krewe, and countless other up and coming artists.

Glide Magazine is proud to premiere their latest track from Truth Serem titled “Love Generator,”  a relentless dance track that combines the elegant retro dance grooves of Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories, but delivered with only the immediacy a live band can deliver.

Front man Nick MacDaniels describes that track as – “Love Generator is an upbeat funky robot dance party about what happens when machines learn how to love. We played this song live for the first time in 2013 at our annual summer music festival – The Big What? and since then its become a staple in our set. For the album, we tracked the parts and solos entirely live in order to capture that same energy from our shows, but we also had a lot of fun with our producer adding extra robot voices, vocal harmonies, tambourines and a big group clap track. All of those bells and whistles really help give the studio version of this song a new life and I absolutely love the way it turned out. “

  1. It’s like Daft Punk meets a contemporary version of The Rolling Stones. Never heard anything like it, yet I have, and it’s so good! Thanks Glide!
