City Councilman Urinates on Crowd at Dark Star Orchestra Show

A councilman from Jersey City, N.J., gave "pea-brained" a whole new meaning when he was arrested for allegedly urinating from a balcony onto fans below during a Dark Star Orchestra show at Washington D.C.’s 9:30 Club Nov. 7.

Councilman Steven Lipski told reporters outside his home two days later that he’s "resolved never to touch alcohol again," according to the New York Daily News, adding that the incident was "deeply humiliating, very embarrassing" and "troubling."

Officially, Lipski has so far refused to admit he relieved himself on his fellow fans, the paper said. "I can’t comment on that," he told a local television station. "I’m going to continue to do all the good things, and I’m not going to let this overshadow me."

He reportedly has told friends and political contributors that the liquid that rained down from the balcony was from a spilled drink.

But a source from the club told the Daily News that Lipski was "very drunk" and not for the first time at the D.C. venue.

Staff at the club reportedly witnessed Lipski doing the alleged deed and escorted him outside until police arrived and arrested him on suspicion of simple assault, according to New Jersey’s Star-Ledger.
