The Week That Was

We’ll be live-blogging the Oscars tonight, so I thought I’d get the week-in-review post up a bit early today. Okay, we’re not live-blogging the Academy Awards. But we are offering this small sample of the nonsense you may or may not have missed ’round these here parts while watching that Anna Nicole Judge weep on the bench:

• My Morning Jacket announced a prom headlining gig in Athens — no word on a potential Marty McFly sit-in
• The rich snobs hung out our ‘hood: Pitchfork digs The Duo (they really liked Joe’s beard and Marco’s lean figure and ironic T-shirts)
• Yes + Kids = Fucking Fantastic
• Uberh33ty shit: We told ya so, brahhh — the popular rock band Phish officially releases 11/14/95 audio and vids
• And they said it couldn’t be done: We finally spotted black people in Phish gear…way far away
• For this week’s B List, Scotty and I threw out a collaborative look at the five bands we each would like to see for the first time down at Langerado. What noobs.
• As always, our regular departments provided the usual cure for boredom and some tasty downloads and videos: Grousing The Aisles featured piano men, Pullin’ ‘Tubes presented rail-thin frontmen, and we kicked off the first installment of the Friday Mix Tape.

We’re only days from from March. I don’t know why I just said that.
