First came the Cream shows, then came the tour with a guy named Derek. Now Clapton’s capitalizing on the Blind Faith catalog, and we fucking love it. On the heels of stunning collaborations at the Countryside Rocks festival in May and the Chicago Crossroads Guitar Festival in July, Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton announced three eagerly anticipated concerts at Madison Square Garden.
In what will surely be one of the must-see quasi-reunion shows this decade, Winwood and Clapton ended speculation and said they will perform together February 25th, 26th and 28th, 2008. Tickets will go on-sale first to American Express cardmembers through a special pre-sale, beginning Monday, November 12th at 9am (EST) — tickets can be purchased via ticketmaster.com. If tickets remain, a general on-sale date will follow on Monday, November 19 at 9am (EST).
Sure it may just be a run at nostalgia, and they’ll milk every penny out of this as they can, but we’re suckers for aging Brits playing some of the best tunes ever.

I’ve been calling for this for the Gods know how long…I will be there, no doubt, cash grab or not. I’d like to see who backs these guys…
Will Neeko sit in with these scrubs?
“I’d like to see who backs these guys…”
I’m hearing that it’s gonna be DJ Logic. Clapton LOVES him.
Interesting. They will probably use the usual guys EC uses for his tours.
BTW, EC agrees with Ace in saying the NYC Cream shows werent all that great. I just finished the book and will report back soon.
