But some of our friends attended last night’s tribute concert to Bob Dylan, celebrating Todd Haynes upcoming biopic. Apparently Cat Power no-showed the Beacon bill, but My Morning Jacket, Calexico, The Roots, Yo La Tengo, Lee Ranaldo and many others showed up to put on, well, a mediocre performance.
Reports from our sources have been subpar — not that the reports themselves have been subpar, we mean the show itself — with Jim James and Calexico’s Goin’ To Acapulco and The Roots’ Masters of War standing out as some of the few highlights (stream both tunes below). Do you disagree with our intrepid reporter? Feel free to let us know what you think of last night’s pricey show…

Can you put the the MMJ stream? That was def a highlight too. I was at this show and thought it was def a mess. The highlights were great, but def too few and far between. The Gomez guys, Dan Hicks, and John Doe were pretty fun. I left the show disappointed overall.
I’ll see what I can do, Joe…give us a couple hours. Check back later and I’ll try to up it in the comments.
Joe, for your downloadable pleasure, I give you Tonight I’ll Be Staying Here With You: http://www.mediafire.com/?0ytdezf152x

amusing- dan hicks, edward “i’m too sexy for my shirt” sharpe, and heath “gum-wadd”ledger
Def unorganized and many lame moments the last song was really a disaster and the mics didn’t work. They should have had one emcee for the night instead of throwing radio dj’s and heath ledger out on the stage to announce bands. No cat power.
MMJ and the Roots were great.
Tiff Merritt stole the show.
Thanks for the mp3s Ace!
Marcus Carl Franklin, Jim James w. Calexico, MMJ, and the Roots stole the show. with Jim’s voice stealing the night, Everything seemed like a mess and the Magnetic Zeroes ( Zero being a perfect name) and Heath’s come chewing were so unprofessional and a disgrace to Bob. I wanted to leap out and punch ’em. If Bob were dead he would be rolling around in his grave cringing. But lucky he is still alive and hey, WASN’T THERE.
could someone please send me the edward sharpe recording?
