Mostly because he’s still dead after 14 years. But we don’t hold that against him.
The world at large lost Frank Zappa on this day 14 years ago — one less genius on this Earf. Zappa influenced many of the bands that ultimately spawned this website, and he remains the only musician to sit on the CNN Crossfire set and absolutely school a couple of bozo deluxes on the First Amendment issue. We could probably go on for thousands of words about the level of musicianship and humor on Hot Rats and Joe’s Garage and Roxy & Elsewhere, but instead we’ll let the moving images and sounds from this wicked Peaches en Regalia do the talking.

RIP
Funny that you dropped your “zappafrank” handle for a comment on this post…a fitting tribute.
Thank you, thank you. Don’t steal my identity!

It’s an awkward interview, thanks to Arsenio.
best line:
“He ugly. He white lookin'” – little girl on CNN re: Michael Jackson and ultimately Zappa’s muse for writing “Why Don’t You Like Me.”
rip frank
“I don’t give a fuck if they remember me at all.” – Zappa
We do Frank, we do.
Frank is the best and so is his auto biography.
I just re-listened to Joe’s Garage after not hearing it for a long time. Dust that sucker off and get to it – you will not be disappointed.
