While the attendees of this year’s Mountain Jam didn’t fully escape the rain, thanks to a brief shower on Saturday, they avoided the weekend-long storms that put a damper on previous installments. We had all sorts of problems with the iClips feeds over the past few days, but what we did see looked fantastic.
For a second year in a row Rich Lieberman showed everyone exactly how to run a live blog directly from a festival. Thanks to Rich’s ability to get posts up quickly, insider access, sheer volume of posts and his expressive writing style the Mountain Jam Blog made us feel like we were up on the mountain ourselves.
Here’s what else was happening while souls were shining at Hunter:

- Spinner lists the 20 shows you just can’t miss this summer
- Neil Young’s CSNY documentary, Deja Vu, hits theaters July 25
- A few OiNK pre-releasers have been arrested over in England
- Did Mayor Daley’s nephew grease the wheels for Lollapalooza?
- Brooklyn Vegan shares photos and words from Wire at the Seaport
- Neil Young pours money into creating an affordable electric car
- As always you can count on Neddy for NYC’s shows of the week
Before you get back to work be sure to check out the story of Eddie Van Halen’s guitar tech, Tom Weber. Weber talks to his hometown paper about the thrill of seeing Eddie “defying every law of nature” every evening. Must be nice.
