Giveaway: The Duo @ The Yard in Brooklyn

We haven’t heard much from the Benevento/Russo Duo so far this year, but that’s about to change. Tonight, Joe and Marco hit the road for a brief jaunt through the northeast that ends with a special show in Brooklyn. The Duo return to their adopted hometown of BK on June 28 for an outdoor gig at The Yard.

  1. I’m gonna go with MMJ @ Bonnaroo. That set had it all from sit-ins to epic originals to super covers.

  2. Got to be going to a Ramble at Levon Helm’s house…not only best show of the year for me – might be best show of my life.
    Highly recommended to all…

  3. Well, since I have to submit this by Friday, I cannot say My Morning Jacket at Radio City on June 20 is the best show I’ve seen so far this year, but that is what I’m anticipating. For now, I’ll say Raconteurs at Terminal 5.

  4. I skipped Clapton to go see Petra Haden with no regrets. Fred Armisen did his alter ego drum guy persona and some stand up then Petra brought out 11 singers, each with thier own special talent, and they harmonized beautifully. Not something you always see at the Knitting Factory.

  5. Best show so far this year was the Lee Boys with Marco and Warren. It wasn’t the songs or the guests (certainly not Marco as I could barely hear him from where I was standing) but more the vibe and danceability of the groove of the music. I don’t know what it is about Sacred Steel music but it’s a bit of an out of body experience. I stop thinking about the music and my body takes over. It’s an experience that I don’t have as much these days but gets to the heart of why RRTFB got so big so quickly. My other highlight, though not a total show, was DSO doing Dancing in the Streets at Mtn. Jam. Again, another example of the music taking over and spreading joy across the crowd.

I can’t wait for this show– the Yard is such a freaking great low-key venue!

  6. What friday morning did you mean? 🙂 haha. I’m sure I’m late. anyways, best show of the year…Seeing Marco do his residency @ Sullivan hall. Especially the night with Brad from the Slip. FaceMelting.
