New Live Phish Release: 7/22/1997

Back in May, Luke Sacks penned a letter to Kevin Shapiro asking for the release of five incredibly-epic Phish shows. Well, it looks like Shapsio got the message, as Phish will be releasing 7/22/97 on DVD, CD and via digital download. Phish – Walnut Creek, a 2-DVD set hits stores on August 5. We can’t wait!

Let’s look back on why Luke thought that show deserved to get released:

A huge lightning storm rolled in during Taste, and the band seemed to be jamming along with the crackles and flashes of light. The segue between Down With Disease and Mike’s Song is among the smoothest and grooviest in Phish history. And who doesn’t love Bye Bye Foot?
