Our political correspondent, Jennifer Kirk, has been on hiatus for the past few weeks, so I’ll take her place by letting y’all know that local boys Yonder Mountain String Band will be performing this afternoon at Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama’s acceptance speech at Invesco Field in Denver. The Nederland natives join a lineup of huge superstars that includes Stevie Wonder, Sheryl Crow and will.i.am. Probably not the best time to drop Two Hits and the Joint Turned Brown.

That’s great for the guys. Main Stage at B’roo to Main Stage at DNC. Not too shabby . . .
I should mention that their website is incorrectly linked above. It should point to:

i talked to a convention attendee last night, he said they are having no alcohol at mile high stadium today…and the pat down/security is going to be nuts. it would be cool to be there, but kinda lame to be at a concert will all these great bands but no party whatsoever
still, i would love to be at the stadium to hear the speech of course. gonna be an interesting night in denvegas. democrats like to party.
awww…shucks, I miss HT so so so much! I’ll be at a college football game tonight but I should be in Denver, so this makes me even more depressed. Can’t wait to watch the speech later though.
