Pullin’ ‘Tubes: Elbow’ing In

Thought today we’d give some space to our friends across the pond as last night they held the ceremony for the annual Nationwide Mercury Prize – which is awarded to best album by a British or Irish artist. Among the 12 albums to make this year’s shortlist were the likes of Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, The Last Shadow Puppets, Adele, oh and some band named Radiohead.

While that might be an impressive list of names (ok maybe not so much to folks here), it was actually a band that the oddsmakers had at 5-1 that took home the prize: U.K. alt-rocker act Elbow for their album The Seldom Seen Kid.
