Badfish Plans Full Lineup for Annual Garden Grove Festival

With each passing year, the annual Garden Grove Festival continues to grow in size and scope.  Hosted by touring powerhouse band Badfish, a Tribute to Sublime, the fourth annual Garden Grove Festival will be held Saturday July 25, returning to the 2500+ capacity Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, New Jersey for the second straight year.  .  In addition to Badfish, other bands confirmed to perform are Scotty Don’t (the original alter ego of Badfish), Full Service, Good Question, Barry & The Penetrators, Ballyhoo!, Flights Kool, Almost There, Entelechy, and The Ice Picks.  The all ages show will begin at 4 p.m., and tickets are $20 advance/ $25 day of show.

The first Garden Grove Festival took place in the summer of 2006 at the Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts, and with it was born the idea of an all day annual event to celebrate the music and spirit of Sublime, with Badfish and some of their favorite bands, many of whom were inspired by Sublime.  With nearly 1800 people in attendance in that first year, Badfish expanded the festival in it’s second year by moving it to the 3000-capacity outdoor amphitheater Indian Ranch in nearby Webster, MA. It was an all-day, two-stage event featuring Badfish and other bands such as Zox, Scotty Don’t, Stealing Jane, Baldi & Suburban Graffiti.  Last year, the festival was moved to the Stone Pony, and drew almost 2000 fans.  This year, the capacity has been raised from 2100 to 2500, with the tradition of music on two stages lasting long into the night continues.
