Before Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers caught on the States, they were huge in Europe. In 1978 the group flew to England to film an episode of the BBC’s Old Grey Whistle Test. VH-1 Classic airs the Heartbreakers’ memorable performance, which featured many of the best songs on their first two albums, as part of the BBC Crown Jewels series throughout the week.
