Controversy: F Both of Them Georges!

Most of the inaugural balls celebrating the start of Barack Obama’s presidency went off without a hitch, but you can always count on George Clinton and P-Funk to add some drama. According to an article in the Washington Times, several wounded war veterans walked out of the Heroes Red, White & Blue Inaugural Ball in D.C. when Clinton waved a towel with the words “Fuck George.” The vets took it as a slap at outgoing President George Bush.

Clinton’s representatives deny the sign was meant to diss W…

“George’s guys always have always had a thing about the four-letter-word,” said band spokesman Sandy Friedman. “It was directed to George Clinton. There was no last name, it was to George, the leader of the band.”

A spokemen for the ball doesn’t seem to buy Clinton’s story…

“Obviously we and the Heroes Ball coordinators were unaware that the sign existed and did not support their actions, especially considering our non-partisan mission and treasured military audience,” said ball spokeswoman Carrie Foster.

Although the article claims a band member took down the sign after seeing a number of people leaving the ball, Friedman denies that there was a mass exodus. Whatever the case, we certainly assume George and the boys played the most epic version of Paint The White House Black ever.
