Last year, Jay Farrar (of Son Volt/Uncle Tupelo fame) and Ben Gibbard (of Death Cab for Cutie/Postal Service/Zooey Deschanel fiancé fame) collaborated on the soundtrack for One Fast Move or I’m Gone, a documentary about Jack Kerouac (of On The Road fame) and his quasi-autobiographical novel Big Sur. Recently Farrar revealed that the collaboration grew from a few songs for the documentary to a "real project" influenced by the life and work of Kerouac that could be released as early as this Fall.
