GTA: Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions

Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions – Toronto 08-21-2002 [.zip file]

When one of my favorite bands of all time, Mazzy Star, went their separate ways, it left their fans wondering what would follow, if anything. They went out as quietly as they came in and singer Hope Sandoval made her own quiet entrance to the music world as a solo artist. Backed by her band The Warm Inventions, Sandoval released the brilliant Bavarian Fruit Bread album. The album was reflective of her creative input while in Mazzy Star yet stood strong on its own as a very mellow, yet exciting and ambient sounding album.

Sandoval toured briefly behind the album and soon after completely disappeared out of the scene. She had commented in various press releases that she really did not like performing live and that she favored the creative aspect of recording music over the rigorous touring schedules and life on the road in general. This show is a true gem that captures Hope & Co. at Lee’s Palace in Toronto, Canada. It’s a beautiful listen and I hope you will kick back, listen and enjoy this rare gem.
