Outside Lands Grabs The D

With MCA on the road to recovery, organizers of San Francisco’s Outside Land Festival have revealed that the acoustic-folk-metal act Tenacious D will replace the hip-hop trio as the festival’s closing night headliner. This will mark the duo’s first ever US festival appearance where they will join a diverse bill that includes the likes of Pearl Jam, Ween, The Dead Weather, Band Of Horses, Os Mutantes and Tea Leaf Green in Golden Gate Park.

Along with the addition of The D, festie organizer have also announced that they’ll be taking over four of the city’s music venues for a series of officially sanctioned late night shows. The shows, which will take place at Mezzanine, The Independent, Rickshaw Stop and Poleng Lounge, boast an impressive array of performers that includes Conor Oberst & The Mystic Valley Band, Akron/Family, Calexico and The Dodos – ticket information and the full line up can be found at the fest’s website.
