Bloggy Goodness: Zimmy Claus

It’s hard to think about the holiday season when temperatures have been soaring above 90 degrees of late, but news surfaced last week that Bob Dylan had headed into the studio to record material for – of all things – a Christmas album. Dylan, who is no stranger to Christian rock, has already laid down renditions of Must Be Santa, Here Comes Santa Claus, I’ll Be Home For Christmas and O Little Town of Bethlehem. Nothing like scaring the hell out of your kids with Zimmy’s renditions of these holiday classics.

Finally, the folks at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame will honor the landmark long-running television show Austin City Limits by designating their studios as a historic rock and roll site. The studio will join nine other rock and roll landmarks around the country including the Whiskey-A-Go-Go and WJW Radio in Cleveland where Alan Freed was credited with popularizing the term “rock and roll.” Austin City Limits will kick off its 35th season on October 3 with a recently recorded Dave Matthews Band performance.
