Phish @ Hartford: Setlist and Recap

The best Phish shows are when the band gives you the feeling that anything can happen at anytime. Last night was one of those best shows as besides busting out the first Forbin’s > Mockingbird since ’00, the group threw down an unorthodox second set, treating fans to a wacky Ghost > Psycho Killer > Catapult > Icculus segment that left attendees speechless.

Set One: Punch You in the Eye, AC/DC Bag, NICU, Colonel Forbin’s Ascent > Fly Famous Mockingbird, Birds Of A Feather, Lawn Boy, Stash, I Didn’t Know, Middle Of The Road, Character Zero

Set Two: Down With Disease > Wilson > Slave To The Traffic Light, Piper > Water In The Sky, Ghost > Psycho Killer > Catapult > Icculus, You Enjoy Myself

Encore: While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Other highlights include another crazy Stash, the second reading of Mike and Leo’s Middle of the Road and the bizarre turn the band took in Disease that sounded like a Reba jam. You never knew what would happen next, but you knew it would be great. Many fans are calling this the show of 2009 already.

Phish continues their tour tonight in Columbia, MD at Merriweather Post Pavilion. We’ll have more from last night including pictures and a review soon. Will Phish keep the momentum going? Be sure to follow @YEMblog for updates from Merriweather to find out what happens next.

  1. Yeah I’d say that was no question a Reba Jam in DWD. What an awesome show. So many highlights. It was fun to hear Birds again too.

  2. Very clear Reba jam. The whole second set was killer (psycho killer I guess). I also thoughthe Birds was particularly good.
No woodstock narration in Col Forbin tho… The MB seemed longer than it used to, heavier too.
